In the Fall 2015 collection The Way of the Warrior, Koral Activewear celebrates the fearless spirit of the onna bugeisha - the female martial artists of early Japan - and explores the 7 virtues of Bushido
- literally “the way of the warrior.”
Within the collection, minimalist elements of shape and proportion are tied together by obi sashes and long sweeping lines of ribbony color-blocking. Kimono-esque layers drape beautifully over sheer-paneled leggings with discreet reveals, while the dramatic lines of ancient Japanese architecture are interpreted in an array of covetable bras. Strategically placed compression panels trimmed with reflective details support and artfully sculpt the body while creating elongated silhouettes.
The prints of the season evoke the iridescent coloring and texture of the koi fish. Koral Activewear’s signature Infinity fabric ensures prints will retain their luminous colors and luxurious finish over time. Tattered tees and textured grey hues depict the volcanic rock backdrop of the islands, while botanic shades of iris and bordeaux add rich pops of color to the landscape of the season. The strength, valor, and resolve of Japan’s fierce female legends is meant not only to inspire the design, but to inspire the warrior within.
